Warwickshire teenager Elizabeth Mallett has bagged her third schools' golf title - and set a course record in the process.

The 13-year-old, from Sutton Coldfield Ladies, scored an incredible three-underpar 68 in her second round at Bloxwich Golf Club in the Midlands Schools Girls' Championship.

It was her first ever sub-70 round and she added it to a morning round of 75 to take the title by three shots from Megan McClaren of Northamptonshire.

The victory secured yet another schools' title for Mallett, who is already a member of England Women's Golf Association's regional select Midlands squad, to add to the English U16 and Warwickshire schools' titles she already holds.

She was four shots off the pace at the halfway stage at three-over par after her opening round but played immaculate golf in the afternoon to turn it around.

She didn't record a single bogey on her afternoon card and picked up shots on the 11th, where she had a tap-in birdie, and the 18th where she chipped in for an eagle three.

To cap off a wonderful day, her performance also helped county colleagues Hannah McLoughlin and Alice Young win the team shield for Warwickshire for the first time.
