Merseyside cabbies get ‘the knowledge’

More than 100 Merseyside cabbies will take the ‘golfing’ knowledge courtesy of the UK’s only PGA national residential golf academy, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa.
With the Open expected to attract more than 230,000 visitors to Merseyside, the region’s taxi-drivers will be busier than ever and free ‘golf workshops’ will equip them with the latest golfing know-how to keep passengers entertained whoever they ‘have in the back of their cab’.
Formby Hall’s team of pros – based just 31/2 miles away from Royal Birkdale – will provide free two-hour golf inductions to interested taxi drivers as part of its focus on making golf accessible to all.
