Dewstow Golf Club Celebrates its 20th Birthday

They know a thing or two about celebrating at Dewstow Golf Club.
So, on the occasion of its 20th "birthday" it was no surprise to find that 200 golfers from all sections of the club turned up to play in a fourball team event, enjoy an all-day barbecue and a great social occasion which went on long after the final putt had been sunk.
A lot has happened in this magical corner of Monmouthshire since the first nine holes were opened in April, 1988.
Now Dewstow is rapidly gaining a thoroughly deserved reputation as "the golf venue which has everything".
Two cracking courses in tip-top condition . . . a comfortable clubhouse where you'll find some of the best-value food around . . . and the amazing Hidden Gardens and Grottoes.
It's important that you make time to relax and take time out to lap up this fascinating experience - but first there's some great golf to be played.
The Park course can easily trick you into thinking that it's going to be a pushover, with a straightforward start easing you into the task ahead.
But golfers of all abilities will soon realise that this 6,226-yard track needs to be afforded a good degree of respect.
Brace yourself for a unique experience (certainly in Wales!) at the 15th.
Off the tee, golfers are faced with the bizarre sight of a totem pole standing tall in the middle of the fairway . . . it was carved out of an American redwood tree and certainly provides an unusual memory of a testing hole.
Dewstow's great golf experience continues on to the Valley Course where a different but no less enjoyable challenge awaits.
Pick of the crop here is the stunning par-five 15th which, when played in the warm glow of a lovely summer's evening, is easily one of the region's most delightful holes.
