Record breaking golfer launches new £2 million academy golf course

SKY TV presenter and record breaking golfer, Glenn Turner, opened a nine hole golf course academy at The North West National golf course in Rainford, Merseyside.

Complementing the par 3 nine hole course will be a floodlight 80 bay driving range and the Glenn Turner Golf School, which represents a £2 million investment. It will also incorporate the largest Nevada Bobs golf superstore in the UK, stretching over 6,000 sq ft.

As a world renowned professional and TV coach, Glenn completed a year long Guinness world record for the most 18 hole golf courses played in 12 months. He has brought his expertise to The North West National, which he designed and plans to make one of the most enjoyable courses to play in the UK.

Glenn commented on the launch of the nine hole par 3 academy course. He said:

"The directors of the North West National, the development team and I are delighted to launch this first phase of a multi-million pound investment.

"This is just the start of what is going to be a truly wonderful course to play on but it will also give golfers expert coaching and comprehensive facilities. An enormous amount of research and planning has gone into the development of the course, which will make it one of the most testing in the UK.

"Aside from making the course a challenge we want to help amateurs and professionals reach the top of their game and we'll do this by providing a top notch course and access to outstanding knowledge and coaching. This is why we're using the GASP system at the Golf School, the leading golf swing analysis system on the market.

"Four golf pros will be working alongside me to make sure we offer the best service possible. We'll also be looking at nurturing the future Tiger Woods of this world, by establishing a junior tour school which will be staffed by qualified professionals."
