Verulam Golf Club

Boy this is tough!

Played here on Friday afternoon on the way to a nearby wedding and it makes marriage look easy. Don't get me wrong, the course does not look tough but it is a real test of golf. The front nine is long and challenging but the back nine steps it up some more and constantly demands long, straight powerful drives to make the fairway. This is not golf for the beginner but it is an excellent test and well worth a visit. The 'Road Hole' 17th is a strange - and some could argue dangerous layout - but is clearly the signature hole and good fun to play. I even had a par-3 at this one! Customer service and friendliness to guests was not great but golf was spot on.
