Course reviews for Le Touquet - La Mer

Le Touquet offers the unique ambiance of a French resort whilst preserving the lingering atmosphere inherited from its British founding fathers, at the turn of the twentieth century. It is therefore, not a great surprise that Le Touquet has become a favourite golf destination. The famous €ÅLa Mer€Â course is reminiscent of Scottish Links, whilst the €ÅLa Forªt€Â course is beautifully set among the pine trees. Thus whether you whish to play to exacting international standards or enjoy the game at a more relaxed tempo, you can do so in peace and quiet against the backdrop of the dunes and forest. Le Manoir Hotel- only a few steps from the starter€s box- provides guest with elegant, comfortable and first class personal service; the hotel equally enjoys an enviable reputation for the excellence of its restaurant. Conference rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court complement the Manoir€s facilities. Le Touquet is also a four seasons family resort, which boast horseback riding, tennis, spa and unrivalled seaside activities. Villas in superb three-quarter acre plots in the forest adjacent to the course are also available. It must also be noted that the Channel Tunnel and a network of motorways in the area make it all easier to drive to Le Touquet for a short break or a longer stay.

Beware the wind

Played this course with a hangover which really didnt help. If the wind is blowing, as when we played, this is a tough course. Take plenty of balls with you, I play off 9 and lost 3. Theres a par three here about 170yds with nowhere but the green to land, its a pig! Personaly I wont be rushing back but Im glad I played it. You have been warned!
