Ufford Park Hotel Golf & Spa
Best Western Ufford Park is probably best known as a golfing resort. Our 18 hole, par 71, parkland golf course is set out on 120 acres of unspoilt Suffolk countryside overlooking the Deben valley. The course is gently undulating and regularly proves an enjoyable yet demanding test of golf.
We have extensive practise facilities with our floodlit two tier driving range, large 18 hole putting green and for those in need of assistance we have the Doctorgolf Teaching Academy which can help you improve whether you are a complete novice or a low handicap veteran.
There is also the 4,000 square feet American Golf Retail store with its huge range of equipment, clothing and accessories. It is worth a visit in its own right.
In addition to traditional 5 day and 7 day members, we welcome pay and play visitors, golf societies, residential golfers staying with us on a getaway break, and golfers looking to start or improve with lessons and residential tuition breaks.
Bar 19, with its two large balconies overlooking the course, is located directly above the golf reception. This is open from 8am until late so that you can get a bacon sandwich before you tee off and then either celebrate or drown your sorrows after your game. Its then up to you whether you spend your time watching others coming up the 18th fairway or simply watch how it should be done on the large flat screen TV showing the latest sporting action.
Course Overview
Our 18 hole, Par 71 (SS 71), parkland course is generally regarded as an enjoyable yet stern test of golf. This is testified to by the players involved with the prestigious events held here such as the PGA Europro Tour as televised on Sky Sports, and the Best Western Senior Masters.
There is a good selection of short technical and longer holes which circle our central 5 acre conservation area. Water comes into play on 12 of the holes and the risk verses reward debate on each hole makes it particularly popular with more discerning gofers.
Due to the naturally free draining characteristics of the soil combined with our dedicated team of greenkeepers, who work tirelessly to keep our course playable no matter what the weather, we were recently voted a Top 10 Winter Course by Today's Golfer. Therefore, there is a very good chance that our course is open and playable when many other courses have had to close. Even trolley bans are an extremely rare occurrence here at Ufford Park.

Hotel - There is plenty for residents to do on site with complimentary access to our Health Club, with its large gymnasium and deck-level swimming pool, there is a two mile perimeter footpath/running track, bicycles for hire, a luxurious floodlit two tier golf driving range with free club hire, a 4,000 square feet American Golf Shop and a choice of bars and restaurants to relax and unwind in. Families are welcome.
Spa - We recently introduced a state-of-the-art Thermal Suite here at Best Western Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa. This comprises of a series of luxurious heating and cooling experiences, which when taken in conjunction with beauty treatments with our team of qualified therapists, means that we are regarded as one of the finest Spa's in East Anglia.
Health Club - Help maintain a healthy lifestyle with our popular health club. This facility is professionally managed by Fitness Express, a company specialising in running health clubs. Their involvement ensures that we provide you with the very highest levels of expertise and professionalism.
Our extensive facilities include; a 33 station gymnasium incorporating the latest cardiovascular and resistance equipment, indoor deck level swimming pool, traditional Nordic sauna and steam room, hot tub, solarium, dance studio, creche (available to Health Club members), two mile perimeter running track.
We offer membership options to suit you and your family and day visitors are also welcome.

Location and directions
Location By Road: From Ipswich - take the A12 north bypassing Woodbridge and then turn right at the roundabout onto the A1152 to Melton. Follow this road down to the first set of traffic lights and turn left onto the B1438 towards Ufford. Ufford Park is approximately 1 mile on your right. From M25: Exit at Junction 28 onto the A12 northbound. At Ipswich turn right onto the A14 eastbound towards Felixstowe. Keep on the A14 until the exit for the A12 northbound towards Lowestoft. The directions are then the same as from Ipswich above. We have free car parking for over 250 cars. By Rail: Intercity line from London to Ipswich, then take the Ipswich to Lowestoft line, disembarking at Melton. Melton train station is approximately 1 mile from Ufford Park. Taxis are available.
